Sitting back chillin’ today. Thinking on things so I’m gonna tell you my thoughts.
I feel like a lot of successful people go over looked. I’m not talking about movie stars, rappers or celebrities in general. What about the doctor who saved 3 people’s lives in the ER last night? What about the person who created ways for those to survive cancer? Man what about this 15-year-old I read about who created a foundation that gives food to over 1000 homeless a month? He was only 15 and is impacting 1000′s!
These days the only levels of success we see is rappers, athletes, and movie stars. I feel this is a false image. Some people just aren’t meant to be those things. Every person’s purpose isn’t to only be in 3 categories. Now days I think people buy into that thought process way to much. A lot of us just need to look in the mirror and be real with who we are. Now I’m an aspiring rapper. Now I know that my real purpose in life isn’t to be just a rapper. For me when I look in the mirror I see someone who could help inspire people. That is my path in life. Now because my goal is to be a rapper I’m trying to combine the 2 for the same goal. Which is to inspire people. Am I perfect at it? Hmmm naw not yet.
But the real question is whats your purpose in life? You may not be the next Drake, Drew Brees, Tom Cruise, or Justin Bieber. That doesn’t mean you can’t be somebody great in life. What we have to do is look inside to who we really want to be. Where our real talent in life is. Sometimes that talent isn’t so much performing some task. Sometimes it is on a level beyond the materialistic and what we see. Then not equate the level of success in money or fame but by how much impact am I doing with what I feel being the most comfortable. What if the kid that is suppose to create the cure for cancer is waisting time trying to be a football player. His only reason for doing it is because the richest or most famous person he sees is a football player. That is a double sided problem. The media overlooks all the areas of success that really could motivate this kid to his true path. At the same time this kid is only trying to be a person he idolizes the most. Instead he could be trying to be the best person he is and be richer and more famous then he ever would have thought. Maybe not in fame but rich and famous in every life he impacts to live.
If you base your goals around who you are! Who you really are and not somebody who the media only categorizes as successful is when success can really happen. Just my thoughts for today.
I was listening to “Dizzy Wright – World Peace” when all this popped into my head.
